The Universal Derailleur Hanger standard is revolutionizing the world of derailleur hangers. The idea behind it is to move away from the countless different models towards a universal hanger that will fit every frame in the future. This significantly simplifies the procurement of replacements. The fixed position of the rear derailleur also ensures more precise gear changes. In addition, in the event of a fall or other external impact, the force is transferred to the axle and not to the frame, which avoids expensive repairs. The Universal Derailleur Hanger standard has established itself in the bicycle industry and is used by many manufacturers.
