High Roller III - The rebirth of a legend

The increasing demands and increasing speeds in modern downhill sport have provided the impetus for a new project. The aim was to develop a tire that offers excellent braking, lateral and cornering traction on deep and loose ground, while at the same time withstanding the extreme cornering forces on hard surfaces. After more than a year of development, MAXXIS has now achieved it: the High Roller III is here. With its hybrid lug design, it is positioned between the Assegai and Shorty models. Its wide range of use extends from soft to hard surfaces, whereby it can be steered precisely and holds the line meticulously. The open center lugs penetrate deep into wet or soft ground and offer reliable grip and effective braking power. At the same time, the generously dimensioned side lugs can withstand even the heaviest loads on extreme slopes. Thanks to the 3C MaxxGrip compound, the High Roller III impresses with excellent cornering control, even on hard surfaces.

    Wide Trail Casing (WT)
This special carcass construction optimizes the tread layout and tire shape on today's wider rims. Traditional tires are developed for narrow rims and have too angular a shape on wide rims, resulting in less than optimal performance.
WT tires are optimized for an inner rim width of 35 mm, but work excellently on all rims with an inner dimension between 30 and 40 mm.

    Tubeless Ready (TR)
Tubeless tires have many advantages: You can ride with less air pressure. This gives you better traction and reduces rolling resistance. And where there is no inner tube, the risk of punctures is also reduced. MAXXIS TR tires are better prepared for mounting with sealing milk than other "tubeless ready" tires. The bead of our TR tires is completely covered with a layer of rubber, just like a real UST tubeless tire. This means that tubeless mounting is successful on all rims with standard dimensions right from the first inflation and with little liquid.
Like tires from other manufacturers, "normal" MAXXIS MTB tires can also be mounted tubeless with sealant, as the carcass fabric is very tight.
However, only the new MAXXIS TR models are officially approved for tubeless mounting and guaranteed by MAXXIS. Tubeless mounting of other models is at your own risk.

Note: We strongly advise against the use of sealant containing ammonia. Ammonia has been proven to attack the carcass and can weaken it by up to 30% after just a few months, depending on the amount used.

    EXO+ Protection
The improved EXO+ carcass is based on a robust 60TPI carcass, which is covered with abrasion-resistant rubber. In addition, the tire sidewalls have a reinforced and rubberized EXO puncture protection layer, while a short butyl insert is used above the tire bead. Tires with EXO+ protection are designed for aggressive trail riding and enduro racing and are ideal for the higher torque and weight associated with E-MTBs.

    3C MaxxGrip
The well-known 3C Downhill compound, which has been trusted by many of the best downhillers for years, is now called 3C MaxxGrip. 3C MaxxGrip offers the ultimate grip and the best damping properties for unparalleled traction on downhills.
